Former member of seminal Irish 80’s rock band Blue In Heaven, Declan Jones moved into band management and studio production in the nineties where he helped shape the careers and albums of critically acclaimed bands like The Plague Monkeys and The Brilliant Trees before moving into the world of television.

Although Declan has subsequently been involved in writing and producing everything from hard hitting dramas to entertainment shows – music has always provided the pulse to his life (he describes himself as a ‘recovering musician’) and he has always looked for new ways to showcase emerging Irish songwriting or performing talent.

As music producer on the RTE songwriting talent show ‘The Hit’ Declan selected the final songs for consideration before overseeing the recording and production of the ten singles (by ten different artists) which went on to dominate the Irish charts (culminating in the Number One ‘Last Great Love Song’ for Finbar Furey).

Declan is currently developing a number of projects for television based around our nation’s enduring relationship with music and song.
